Introduction to A2 Horror
This year in media I am learning about horror. So far we have learnt about Propp’s character theory, Todorov’s theory of narrative, Strauss’ binary theory. We have analysed a number of horror poster and watched a number of trailers and bits of horrors such as Nosfertu, Psycho, case 39, the possession and more. We were set work to create a timeline of horrors from 1922 to 2013 and below is how many films people thought were major horror films and there is still more horror films that I could have included however they were not as popular as the ones I picked out.
Below is the horror posters we have analysed which was an important thing to do because it can help us think of how we want to create our own posters and it teaches us the conventions and subversions of different horror posters.
