Premiere

Film Premiere

We did a film premiere on Friday 14th February where people could come and watch our trailer and the other groups trailers. This was created to advertise 'Twisted' and to get people to come along and watch our trailer.

We took this as an opportunity to get a bit of audience feedback as well so I decided to create a questionnaire for people to fill out after they had watched my trailer. this would also be useful for question 3 of the evaluation.

Photos

This is the original photo we were going to use on our magazine front cover however we came across a few obstacles. Because we were trying to use a picture of five people we came across the problem of not having anywhere to put any text. To over come the barrier we decided to use the three main characters on our magazine cover.

This is the final picture that we decided to use. We cropped off each girl from the side because we felt that the faces of the other characters were appropriate for the type of film twisted is. We also used these three girls because they are the mail characters.

What influenced our trailer?

The main influence on our trailer was 'Pretty Little Liars'

Pretty Little Liars is a series of TV programmes which follows the lives of four girls who are best friends. The leader of the group of girls goes missing and this is when everything starts to go wrong and they begin to receive texts from an unknown person and themes such as bullyingmurderdrug addictionunderage drinkingeating disorders,homosexualitypeer-pressureinfidelity, and mental illness unfold.

Finished Filming

After four long, hard and pressuring weeks my group have finished filming for our trailer. We have a variety of clips from party scenes, to burying scene, to the girls running and being tortured.

I think our footage is very good and effective and has been carefully thought about and shot. We had many push backs and hold ups during filming because most of it was done in the dark so it was hard for us to get the camera focused all the time which meant filming the same thing over and over again until we had a good final product.

We shot our scenes in a variety of different locations including corridors, studios, fields and gardens. We also used a variety of different costumes including fancy dress and different props such as blood, paint, ketchup and CD cases to get our shots to be effective.

These are the outside locations we used to film our clips for the trailer.

Final Film Poster

Final Film Poster

This is our final film poster. We chose to make it landscape so that our image wasn't affected by the layout. we didn't want out poster to look all squashed together and having the landscape layout enabled us to space out the titles, credits and film certificate.

Our poster links well with our trailer because its all about the four girls and the fact they have killed the other friend boyfriend. So the idea of them looking into a grave links in with our plot. The mis-en-scene of Aisha holding the shovel also links in with our plot because the girls are trying to cover up what they have done in every way possible.

We named our trailer 'Twisted' because there is a twist in the story when the girls get found out even though they have been hiding it do so long. Twisted also represents the relationship the best friends have because they have killed their best friends boyfriend but they have kept it hidden from her and lied to her so it is a twisted relationship that they have with each other.

The tagline we chose to use is 'the truth will never stay buried' and the reason we chose to use this is because in the trailer it shows a text from someone saying that they know what they have done and they are going to pay for what they have done and therefore their secret isn't hidden anymore even though they may have buried the proof and they will get found out in the end. We decided to make sure that the tag line isn't very long because when its short and quick it is more memorable to the audience.

The credits at the bottom of the poster have been edited and all names have been changed to the cast we used and people who helped us out during the process, so for example people who gave us props we may have used. And people who did things behind the scenes for us like flashing lights and holding things in place.

Our Landscape Poster

Our Landscape Poster

My group decided to make our poster landscape. As this is rarely seen in posters I have found five different examples of where a landscape page layout has been used for a poster.

I think that having a landscape poster was better for our group because of the amount of people we have in the shot. We have 5 people in our shot and when the page is portrait the picture looks too squashed, too stretched or people are cut out of it.

To make the poster effective we didn't want the image stretched, squashed or people cut out so to overcome this we decided to use a landscape layout. Having the landscape layout meant that our image was not affected and there was enough room for the title, tagline and credits to fit on the page without it looking too squashed together.

Progress on our products.

Over the past few lessons we have been editing our trailer and creating our poster and magazine cover to go with it. so far we have finished our poster, we are halfway with our trailer and we are beginning to make progress on our magazine cover. We have chosen all the appropriate pictures and film to put on our poster, magazine cover and trailer we just need to organise it properly and add in other bits to make our products look up to scratch.
